Hello, my name is Monica Birko and I am the founder of The Pawffice. Ever since I was little, I have had a special love for animals. I received a Bachelors of Science in Biology to pursue my goal of being a veterinarian. I moved to Ohio to go to grad school, but I ended up getting married and moving to Germany. When I returned home to the states I became involved with a local dog rescue. I have fostered and cared for over 70 dogs, puppies, and cats over the past 10 years, many of which had behavioral and health issues. In late 2015 I decided that working for the rescue was not enough and decided to open up The Pawffice to spend with animals and doing what I love.

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Jennifer brings not only a passion for pets but also for cancer research as the Associate Director of Assay Innovations at Cleveland Diagnostics. She shares her home with her husband, two daughters and two beloved pups, a 9 year old lab mix and a four year old mini Goldendoodle. When asked what animal she would be if she could be any animal, she’d chose the elephant— for their loyalty, family bonds, and amazing memory. When she is not working she enjoys, hiking, waterskiing and eating Mexican food and singing to country music. She is especially passionate about early cancer diagnostics and brings that same dedication to everything she does.

Hi, I’m Julie! I live in the Northfield area, with my husband, our chocolate lab named Donkey, and our cat, Beans — two furry characters who bring endless laughter and love into our home. Animals have always been a huge source of happiness for me; I can’t imagine life without them. I’m a creative soul — whether I’m piecing together colorful mosaics, painting, or turning bits of sea glass into jewelry, I love finding beauty in the little things. I see my creativity as a way of life, not just a hobby — it’s how I stay grounded and inspired. When I’m not creating or spending time with my pets, I love to travel and explore new cultures. I’ve been fortunate to visit 13 different countries so far, each one adding a little more color and perspective to my story.
I have been enjoying the last several months working with Monica and getting to know your pups. They bring so much light and happiness to my day!
